Picture yourself conquering hiking, mastering adaptive skiing and snowboarding, navigating exhilarating whitewater rafting trips, or discovering the wonders of surfing, mountain biking, water-skiing, zip lining, rock climbing, and camping. Filmmaking Program
Through our partnership with On Set Soldiers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to training military veterans for careers in film, Cherney’s Journeys is committed to bringing the stories of veterans and individuals with disabilities to life. We collect and develop scripts from these communities and transform them into films, documentaries, TV shows, music videos, video game captures, and other forms of media. Our goal is to provide a platform for voices that are often underrepresented in the film industry.
Veterans involved in On Set Soldiers' program gain invaluable career training and hands-on experience through their participation in these productions. This collaboration not only fosters creative expression but also builds connections, empowers individuals, and supports both personal and professional growth.
Given the high suicide rates among veterans and people with disabilities, our initiative seeks to create meaningful opportunities and support systems that can make a real difference. Adaptive Equipment Innovation Program
At Cherney’s Journeys, we don’t just talk about empowerment—we make it happen. Through our "Adaptive Equipment Innovation" program, we are dedicated to ensuring every participant can fully engage in their journey. We adapt or custom-create equipment tailored to the unique needs of veterans and civilians with disabilities. From specialized gear for adaptive sports like skiing, surfing, and mountain biking, to innovative tools that enhance everyday mobility and independence, including musical instruments that are modified for accessibility, Cherney’s Journeys is committed to breaking down barriers. Our program harnesses creativity and technology to empower individuals to pursue their passions, achieve their goals, and form connections that last a lifetime.
